Three ways to be a better Saver

For sure there are different techniques to ramp up savings rate, but what I will share to you is I believe one of the effective strategies to boost you savings and prepare retirement with a larger nest egg.

Make it Automatic

You won’t forget to invest if you set up regular deposits. Sign up to have the money automatically transferred from your checking account into mutual fund each month. Seven months ago, I enrolled in the retirement program offered by our company that deducts specific amount from my basic salary and have it deposited to my HSBC retirement account. Now I checked the amount and I’m very happy to see that it is accumulating slowly but surely. Not only did I started an autopilot saving, I also benefited from the the 3% employer contribution that my company is saving in my account. Surely a win-win for me.

Reward Yourself

Set an annual savings target and promise yourself a nice reward if you reach it. Whenever we go to IKEA, my wife always dragged me to the booth where the ipod touch is displayed. Since we both agreed not to buy unnecessary gadget to meet our saving target, she can’t do anything but to look at it. One night while we are reviewing our financial target, I told her that if she could save extra $3,700 dollars by the end of 2008 we will go to IKEA and buy his dream ipod touch. I’m always a believer of a positive mental conditioning to achieve positive result. With this technique, we can save some, and will get a nice treat once the required amount was met.

Pay a fine

I have said a while ago how I really love the positive mental conditioning. How about the other way around? Well, this technique is an option for those people who respond more to the fear of punishment than the promise of a prize. You might want to come up with an agreement that if the target saving is not met there is a corresponding fine. Additional $500 dollar or $1000 dollar or no new clothes for the next 6 months and others..

By following these simple technique, I’m sure you are going to add a spice to your saving strategies.

I have a equitable-pci before.. what i did is I call the customer service http://www.bdo.comph about it.. the girl who attned my concern gave me my new number…

so if you have equitable pci- you should receive equivalent banco de oro number.. bdo will redirect all ayou account transaction from you equitable pci.. you can even use your equitable online banking log in account para maka access sa internet banking ng banco de oro.

Sa Oman Exhange ako nag open.. :) pwede ka ring mag open sa Etimadco
